<div><strong>Hun verhaal in het kort</strong>

<div>Begin 2016 verloor Linda op tragische wijze haar man Mehmet en de toen nog 8-jarige Rebekka daarmee haar vader. Er was amper tijd om te rouwen want een maand later al werd geconstateerd dat Linda lymfeklierkanker had. Er volgden meerdere jaren van chemo en bestralingen. De ziekte bij Linda keerde steeds weer terug. Tot en met heden zitten wij met de gehele familie in een enorme rollercoaster, maar met jullie hulp is er nog hoop!

<div><strong>Terugkerende ziekte</strong>

<div>Inmiddels heeft Linda in de afgelopen zes jaar, twee chemokuren, één immuuntherapie en twee bestralingskuren ondergaan. Begin 2022 was de laatste kuur. Met z’n allen hoopten wij dat het weer een tijd rustig zou blijven. Begin juli 2022 kreeg ze helaas de diagnose uitgezaaide baarmoederhalskanker in haar lever.

<div><strong>Hoe het nu gaat</strong>

</div>
<div>Linda en Rebekka zijn twee dappere en sterke strijders, ze houden zich opnieuw goed staande en de vechtlust is onverminderd. Ondanks haar ziekte hanteert Linda het adagium Carpe diem. Geniet en blijf je als een klein kind verwonderen over de mooie, kleine en dierbare dingen in het leven.

<div>Momenteel krijgt Linda een behandeling in Nederland, die tot een paar weken geleden alleen nog in België tot een reguliere behandeling hoorde. De artsen spreken hierbij over een levensverwachting in termen van maanden.

<div><strong>Alles op alles!</strong>

</div>
<div>Linda, Rebekka, de familie en veel lieve vrienden halen alles uit de kast om ervoor te zorgen dat Rebekka naast haar vader niet ook haar moeder moet verliezen. Samen vormen wij het team 'Reblin's Army'. Wij hebben eindeloos Gegoogeld, research gedaan, ziekenhuizen bestookt met vele telefoontjes en mailtjes én met resultaat!

<div>Na vele gesprekken met vooraanstaande artsen in binnen- en buitenland zijn wij uitgekomen op een behandeling in Duitsland met een veel langere levensverwachting en is er zelfs kans op genezing.

<div><strong>Behandeling in Duitsland</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Linda’s wens is een dendritische celtherapie in Duitsland.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dit is een vorm van immuuntherapie, waarbij de afweercellen van het lichaam gestimuleerd worden om afweerstoffen te maken tegen bepaalde (kanker)cellen met als doel deze op te ruimen. Het activeren van de dendritische cellen gebeurt buiten het lichaam. Na afnemen van bloed worden de cellen buiten het lichaam gekweekt en ‘opgeleid’. <div>Deze therapie wordt op maat gemaakt, geeft nauwelijks tot geen bijwerkingen en heeft een veel gunstigere prognose. Hiermee is er namelijk zicht op overleving in jaren en is er zelfs genezing mogelijk. Daar gaan wij voor!

<div><strong>Their story in short</strong>

<div>At the beginning of 2016, Linda tragically lost her husband Mehmet and the then 8 year old Rebekka her father. There was hardly time to mourn, because a month later it was found that Linda had Lymphoma.

<div>We all hoped it would be quiet again for a while. At the beginning of July 2022 she was unfortunately diagnosed with metastatic cervical cancer in her liver.

<div><strong>How are they doing now</strong>

<div>Linda and Rebekka are two brave and strong fighters, they hold up well again and the fighting spirit is undiminished. Despite her illness, Linda uses the adage Carpe diem. Enjoy and continue to wonder like a small child about the beautiful, small and precious things in life.

<div>Linda is currently receiving treatment in the Netherlands, which until a few weeks ago was only part of regular treatment in Belgium. The doctors refer to this as a life expectancy in terms of months.

<div>Linda, Rebekka, the family and good friends do everything we can to ensure that Rebekka does not have to lose her mother in addition to her father.

<div>After many conversations with leading doctors at home and abroad, we have arrived at a treatment in Germany with a much longer life expectancy and there is even a chance of recovery.

<div>Linda's wish is a dendritic cell therapy in Germany.

<div>This is a form of immunotherapy, in which the immune cells of the body are stimulated to make antibodies against certain (cancer) cells with the aim of clearing them. Activation of the dendritic cells occurs outside the body. After blood is drawn, the cells are grown and 'trained' outside the body. Then they are reintroduced into the body to carry out their task. <div>A principios de 2016, Linda perdió trágicamente a su esposo y Rebekka, de 8 años, a su padre. Apenas hubo tiempo para llorar, porque un mes después ya se constató que Linda tenía un cáncer de ganglio linfático. Siguieron varios años de quimioterapia y radiación. La enfermedad de Linda seguía reapareciendo. Hasta ahora estamos en una enorme montaña rusa con toda la familia, pero con tu ayuda aún hay esperanza.

Todos esperábamos que volviera a estar tranquila por un tiempo. Lamentablemente, a principios de julio de 2022, le diagnosticaron cáncer de cuello uterino metastásico.

<div>Nosotros, la familia y muchos queridos amigos, pero también Linda y Rebekka, hacemos todo lo posible para asegurarnos de que Rebekka no tenga que perder a su madre además de a su padre. Juntos llamamos a nuestro equipo “Reblin´s Army”.

<div>Estamos organizando un evento benéfico junto muchos amigos músicos. <div><strong>Tratamiento en Los Países Bajos</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Hasta la semana pasada, Linda solo podía ser tratada con quimioterapia en Los Países Bajos como último recurso para este tipo tan particular de cáncer. Afortunadamente, estábamos tan decididos a explorar todas las posibilidades más allé de las fronteras.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hemos tenido múltiples consultas con hospitales y clínicas en España, Alemania, hasta EE. UU. inclusive. Al final, elegimos a una nueva inmunoterapia aprobada por la Comisión Europea (EMA) en combinación con quimioterapia en Bélgica. Dicha forma de terapia ya se ha incluido allí como tratamiento regular y ha demostrado ser exitosa.

<div>La semana pasada recibimos de repente la noticia sorprendentemente positiva de que este tratamiento, que Linda recibiría en Bélgica, había sido aprobado la semana anterior por el Comité Holandés para la Evaluación de Recursos Oncológicos (BOM).
</div>

</div>
<div>Con gran tenacidad, hemos logrado que Linda recibe el tratamiento en los Países Bajos esta semana con esta forma relativamente nueva de inmunoterapia. Linda es la primera persona en los Países Bajos en recibir este tratamiento para este tipo específico de cáncer de cuello uterino.

<div><strong>Tratamiento en Alemania</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Luego Linda irá a Alemania para recibir otra forma de inmunoterapia, la llamada terapia con células dendríticas.
</div>

</div>
<div>Esta es una forma de inmunoterapia, en la que se estimulan las células inmunitarias del cuerpo para que produzcan anticuerpos contra ciertas células (cancerosas) con el objetivo de eliminarlas. La activación de las células dendríticas ocurre fuera del cuerpo. Después de extraer la sangre, las células crecen y se “entrenan” fuera del cuerpo.
