Ryan & Lisa LeVan-Flood Damage

The LeVans house flooded last night. Water filled the basement, broke out basement windows, and was coming to the first floor. Firemen came and helped them get what could be salvaged moved to higher ground and worked to pump water out of the basement. When I last talked to Lisa around 1 am, the firemen would not allow them to return to the house until they had everything under control and Red Cross was called in to assist them. The kids were staying at a friend's houses.  From what I understand, the basement is a total loss. I'm not sure what the next step is, but they're obviously going to need our help. 

UPDATE: They were not allowed to return to the house. Lisa and Ryan are at a hotel. Someone is coming to inspect the house today to say if they're allowed back in. They'll know more after that.

UPDATE: From Lisa: ...we just heard that insurance most likely won't cover anything, even if we had flood insurance because it wasn't a true flood...feeling so defeated right now

UPDATE:  Insurance is not covering. Damage includes everything in basement, garage, water heater, HVAC.
