"Leukemia is bad!"
Donation protected
This is my friend John. Last week, just before Christmas, his otherwise stable diagnosed leukemia had a toxic flare up. High white blood cell count, near kidney failure. He spent the first few days heavily sedated in the hospital, critical condition. Then began the treatment. Dialysis, and extreme rounds of chemotherapy. He will be hospitalized for several days more.
I can imagine the toll it takes on a person. He is self-employed, runs a small business ~ one that requires daily, hands-on work. He has stopped working, of course.
I am starting this to help him out. I'm sure the medical bills are going to come. Deductibles and much, much more. He has two small children living in the Chicago area. Perhaps we can help them get here to visit before something worse happens.
All told, this is something that can hit all of us without warning. We all have donated to the Cancer society and other worthy charities, but sometimes it takes some direct help to really make an impact.
