In Honor of Bob Donofrio

Coming to terms with the impending death of a loved one is a battle in itself, a feeling one would surely forfeit any material object to never be forced to experience. Unfortunately that is not an option but a doomed circumstance we must face in the journey of life. In this instance, there is a family in Virginia, that many know and love throughout the country, who needs our support more than ever.
As time passes, many friends and family spread further apart geographically but never in spirit, notably when it comes to the Donofrio Family.
Anybody who knows the Donofrio Family personally is well aware of the countless selfless acts preformed regularly by every member from parent to grandchild. Such as welcoming many into their homes in times of need without question, when they themselves have families to support and could have used a little help, never asking for anything in return. That is the definition of "Family". This is why close friends of this noble, deserving family are reaching out to ask for your help.
Robert "PJ'' Donofrio has acquired a great deal of nicknames, as he is adored by so many people, including "Pop", "Papa John" and "Dino" just to name a few. Currently our beloved father of 3 incredible children, whom so many of us call "family", is losing the battle to Cancer with a tumor on his esophagus, colon, liver and lungs.

Offspring, Nichole, Nate and Natalie along with his grandchildren have courageously stood by PJ's side and witnessed his health rapidly decline for the worst executing everything in their power to fill his final days with a positive energy by building enjoyable memories, including a trip to the Bronx (where so many of PJ's cherished memories reside) and as much distraction from his physical agony as possible.


Bob's daughter Nichole (Mother to 4 of his grandchildren) has taken him into her home so he may be comfortable and with his family as opposed to being confined to the cold walls of a hospital room. Nichole is grateful for every moment spent in the presence of her father , but as you know in this situation, 24 hour care is required in addition to being a full time mother. Providing family and friends with daily updates on PJs condition, Nichole has left her job in order to give her dad the care he needs. If you were to cross paths with Nichole you wouldn't even get a glimpse of the pain and struggle endured within. Coping with a strain of unfortunate events while staying strong for her children and family, Nichole has sacrificed so much in attempt to make such a heart wrenching situation easier on those within the Donofrio's circle. This has left her and the rest of the family with no funds to begin to prepare the proper arrangements for the forthcoming passing of their father.
We all know times are hard and money is tight all over, but every little bit counts and collectively we can give PJ and his family the due respect and assistance any of us would want for our own family. Every donation will be deeply appreciated by the family and words can not describe how deserving they truly are.
