Erin's Grandmother was recently affected by the disastrous Hurricane Harvey in Houston which flooded her house completely and lost everything.
From home appliances to the fondest memories, sourvenirs and photographs, the flood took it all away from her.
This is an effort to crowdfund so we can reach out as fast as possible in this state of emergency.
Below is the message Erin's mom wrote:
Hello all. MOTHER/HURRICANE HOUSTON UPDATE. The picture is of my mother and my daughter in my mother's house before it was destroyed by the flood. Had a long long listening time with mother. It seems to settle in by degrees as to what LOSING EVERYTHING means. The vulneralbility of it all. She went to the laundry mat. It was extremely crowded. Nobody has washers and dryers for miles around due to losing them in the flood. Her desire is to one day have a stove, washer and dryer and refrigerator/freezer again. She lives out of a picnic cooler as her refrigerator. The top of her stove works but not the oven. She can't find her microwave and doesn't know if it survived the flood. She mentioned not being able to find Daddy's flag from his honorary military burial. She also mentioned that there were 3 other flags of honor from the past that she can't find that were received by her father and other relatives that were in her keeping for their honorary military service. They still can't seem to kill all the mold in the house. Although she is trying to keep a stiff upper lip and not be negative. A DAUGHTER KNOWS WHEN HER MOTHER IS SAD. (she is receiving letters and cards from you...THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH...she says that they mean alot to her.
