Let's Help Jake Bring Atom Home

On October 25th we lost an incredible friend, Adam Helms aka Atom Strange. For anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Atom, you know about his extreme talent and passion for music and art. His optimistic outlook was undeniably contagious. His sense of humor was one of the qualities that made time with him so memorable - he was so witty! 
I had the pleasure of being Atom's friend for 20 years. That is 20 years of terribly awesome jokes, impersonations, and above all, having an extremely loyal friend. I have so many memories with him, and as every moment passes, more flood my mind. I know that eventually the tears and smiles will learn to go hand-in-hand. I miss him.
Before Atom's passing, he reached out to so many people and let them know what they meant to him. He shared memories and gratitude to each person. He also shared his intentions of coming home. He had plans to move back to LA and start life back up where he belonged. We were all looking forward to spending time with him and watching him rebuild his home here.
As you can imagine, Atom was not moving home alone. When you think of Atom, it's usually accompanied by another name that is almost glued to his: Jake. I cannot even begin to express how much my heart hurts for Jake. Not only did he lose his brother, but he lost his best friend. As Joe Magna put it, "they are two sides to the same coin". Jake needs his family of friends close to him and he needs to bring Atom home. It won't take the pain away but it will allow the healing process to begin. Jake is ready make the move but there are a few expenses keeping him from being able to do so now. I am hopeful that we can help Jake by taking some of the financial burden away from him and his family.
The funds raised will go to Atom's family to cover his cremation and all the expenses that accompany it. It will also cover a memorial for Atom in LA.
In addition to the above costs, the funds collected will go to paying off the remainder of Jake and Atom's lease, Jake's flight, and POD rental.
Anything you can spare and donate is greatly appreciated. I am determined to show Atom and his family that we love him just as much as he loved us.
Rest in Peace my dear friend. Rest knowing that we will take care of Jake for you and please know that we'll do all we can to help Jake bring you home. Love you, Adam!
