Ricky Cardenas’ Open Heart Surgery

On the heels of one of the most devastating and difficult years the Cardenas family has ever had , 2018 brings them yet another huge obstacle. On Wednesday, January 31st at 7:45 AM , Ricky Cardenas will be having open heart surgery . The surgeon will replace the main aortic root and try and repair the valve that’s leaking and damaged from the aortic root being distended. If he is unable to repair it he will replace it with a mechanical valve . Lastly the surgeon will snip another part of the heart to protect Ricky from having a blood clot during surgery and in the future. Afterwards , Ricky will be immediately moved to the Cardiac ICU and will be there for about 2-3 days . He will then be moved to another hospital room for about 5-7 days and will be off work for 6-8 weeks .
As you can imagine , the emotional and financial burden is overwhelming for their family . We know that God has everything completely under control and is the ultimate healer . We are asking to first and foremost, prayer for protection , healing , and guidance over the surgeon’s hands tomorrow. We pray that Ricky would recover quickly , and completely whole . We pray for Michelle , Ethan , Rylan and Owen , that their nerves will be calm and they will draw closer to the Lord, and see God’s great glory in all of this .
We are also asking that if you feel led , to please donate what you can to help ease their financial burden and in turn lighten the stress on their family as Ricky recovers . God has been so faithful to bring them through so much in 2017 , we trust and believe He is faithful to bring them through this as well and glorify His name in the process.
