 Dr. Myriam Ortiz is an 80-year-old psychiatrist, recognized for more than 30 years of service to children, adolescents, adults, and families within the autism and neurodiversity community in Venezuela.

 Throughout her professional life, she has dedicated herself to supporting autistic individuals and their families through organizations such as Fundasperven and Sovenia, becoming a source of guidance, hope, and care for countless people.

 Today, Dr. Ortiz is facing one of the most difficult moments of her life.
</div>

<div>
 Since 2024, she has been undergoing treatment for cancer. On July 22, 2026, her medical team indicated the need to begin a new cycle of chemotherapy, an essential step in her fight against the disease.

 Just days later, on June 24, 2026, the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela changed her family's life forever. The family home in La Guaira was lost, and the maternal home where she currently resides suffered structural damage, including affected walls, electrical systems, and plumbing.

 Dr. Ortiz lives with her daughter, an autistic woman, and her autistic grandson. Together they are facing the enormous challenge of continuing lifesaving medical treatment while also recovering from the consequences of a natural disaster.

 La Dra. Myriam Ortiz es una reconocida médico psiquiatra venezolana con más de 30 años de trayectoria profesional, dedicada al bienestar de niños, adolescentes, adultos y familias, especialmente de la comunidad autista y neurodivergente.

 A lo largo de su vida ha entregado su conocimiento, su vocación y su corazón al servicio de quienes más la necesitaban. Como especialista en autismo, ha acompañado a miles de familias a través de su labor en Fundasperven y Sovenia, dejando una huella imborrable en la vida de muchas personas.

 En 2024 fue diagnosticada con cáncer. Desde entonces ha enfrentado esta batalla con una fortaleza admirable. El 22 de julio de 2026, sus médicos indicaron que debía iniciar un tercer ciclo de quimioterapia, un tratamiento indispensable para continuar luchando por su vida.

 Como si esta difícil situación no fuera suficiente, el 24 de junio de 2026 los devastadores terremotos que afectaron a Venezuela cambiaron por completo la vida de su familia. La vivienda familiar ubicada en La Guaira se perdió, y la casa materna donde actualmente reside sufrió daños importantes en paredes, parte del sistema eléctrico y tuberías, lo que requiere reparaciones para garantizar un hogar seguro.

 La Dra. Myriam vive junto a su hija, una mujer autista, y su nieto, también autista. Juntos enfrentan el enorme desafío de continuar con un tratamiento médico tan complejo mientras intentan recuperarse de las consecuencias de esta tragedia.

 Con esta campaña buscamos recaudar 45.000 dólares estadounidenses (USD 45.000), fondos que serán destinados a:
