Let’s support Alicia and her boys!

For those who don't know Alicia, thank-you for taking the time to read her story.  Alicia is a 46 year old woman from Echuca and she is the mother of 4 absolutely amazing boys.  She is a Midwife and a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, who has supported many families in the community. 
In August 2018, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with bowel cancer, which had spread to her liver and lungs (stage 4).

For the last 16 months, Alicia has undergone chemotherapy to slow the progression of this disease.  The standard treatment pathway going forward is ongoing palliative chemotherapy every fortnight until the disease progresses or side effects are 'unacceptable'.  Chemotherapy has helped but the side effects are debilitating and impacting on her quality of life.

Alicia has made the difficult decision to pursue a different pathway which includes immunotherapy combined with low dose radiotherapy.  This treatment is very costly and will involve time in Malaysia under medical care.  Alicia is hoping this treatment will continue to stabilize the cancer and give her quality of life.  Alicia has started this treatment, however there are significant ongoing costs that she needs to fund herself.

The aim of this GoFundMe page is to come together and lift the burden of debt to Alicia and her boys. 

Alicia is extremely grateful for everyone's support as she continues to focus her energy on getting better and being a wonderful Mum to her 4 active boys.
