Let's Save Their Home!

My name is Rosa Melendez, I am the sister of Manny Gonzalez.  I'd like to share his story and family struggles with you in the hopes our family and friends will come together and help.
Manny is a great father, husband, brother and friend.  When anyone needs help, he is there for them, no questions asked at any time of the day or night.  When he sees me shoveling snow, he crosses the street and takes over.  When I needed new brakes for my car, he put them in for me.  If anything breaks in my house, he is there to help me.  He is the same way with all of 7 of his siblings!  So now that he and his family need help, I want us to be there for him.  He gives so much to others, please join me in helping him save his home!
Manny and his wife Cathy are in danger of losing the house and home they have built for themselves and their family over the past 15 years.  Foreclosure is scheduled for this January 2018 and is coming quickly.  They need help and they need it now!  Please help us to raise the $30,000 needed to keep them and their children safe in their own home.  Any money raised in excess of the $30,000 needed to avoid foreclosure will be used for future medical and educational expenses for the children.

     Here is their story.......

Manny & Cathy met at a very young age and they became the best of friends.  They were married in 1998 and could not wait to become parents!  Daughter Karina (now 16), son Gabriel (now 15), and son Jory (now 13) were a blessing to this wonderful Christian family!  Both Gabriel and Jory were diagnosed wtih Severe Autism at an early age.  Manny & Cathy always say how priveleged they feel that God entrusted them to care for these wonderful beautiful boys.  Additionally, their daughter Karina is an honor student, a cellist, and a hard working and family oriented young lady.  There is much to be thankful for!
Manny is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served his country for 4 years.  After his service, he has been employed by the Frito Lay Company as a route sales representative for the past 15 years.  He continues to work for this company, but has suffered cut wages and hours over the past few years due to the depression of this area and loss of jobs at the casinos.  He also suffered an injury and was out of work for quite some time.  This all contributed to his current financial situation and caused problems with their mortgage.   Cathy has tried to help by working outside the home, however, due to the severity of the boys' medical issues, she was not able to sustain her employment.
As Gabriel and Jory got older, their medical issues have gotten more serious and more expensive.    Gabriel was experiencing seizures and finally has been diagnosed wtih epilepsy.  This is in addition to his severe emotional and behavioral issues.  Jory is still nonverbal and sufferes from ADHD in addition to his Autism.
They have medical insurance but a very high deductible to meet before the insurance company will cover any costs.  Their out of pocket expenses on specialists, emergency hospital visits, and medications have been astronomical.  For routine dental services, both boys have to be under anesthesia; this costs up front $750 just so they can get their routine cleanings!  Other expenses are not covered at all; adult diapers for Gabriel; sleeping aids like melatonin, and much more.
Gabriel & Jory do not qualify for SSI or Medicaid because Manny continues to hold down a job!  Once they turn 18 (Gabriel in 3 years; Jory in 4 1/2 years) they will become eligible to receive assistance, but we need help now to ensure they can stay in the home they have made for their family for the past 15 years.

Please help as much as you can to help this family get through this difficult time!  Manny & Cathy are truly amazing people who have embraced raising their children in a loving and caring environment.  All 3 children are students in the Egg Harbor Township School District, with Gabriel attending Special Services at this time.  The family is well known throughout their school, family, and church communities and have been there over and over again for others in need.  It is now our time to give back to this wonderful family and help them stay in their home!
