<div>Unfortunately on Tuesday 26th November at around 4pm, at our town centre Rock shop a male customer, assaulted a member of the hospice team, and stole over £200 from our till.

<div>Our Hospice team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide the best palliative and end of life care to the people of Bury. Our shops are a huge part of how we raise our funds to support us in delivering care.

<div>We know there is a national shoplifting pandemic, and we battle this in each of our shop’s daily. We will however absolutely not tolerate physical assaults on members of our team. We are now looking at what additional security measures we need to put in place in our shops to protect our staff and volunteers, and are working with the local police.

<div>Our shops wouldn’t exist without the support of the people of Bury. This individual has stolen money that we use to provide hospice care and therefore the impact is felt throughout the whole hospice and community.

<div>Not only is this bad enough but the person assaulted is so shaken up they feel they can no longer face that risk again and so the hospice has lost a willing and proud volunteer so please give what you can … Thank you to all you decent human beings in advance…
