<div>In the heart of the Andean Choco, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, lies the Saloya River, a key biological corridor for biodiversity and the livelihood of more than 3,800 families. Today, this paradise is threatened by the San Jacinto hydroelectric project, which seeks to divert its flow and extract 10,010.00 liters of water per second, could dry up its ecosystem and endanger unique species such as the river otter, the capuchin monkey, fishes and other endemic species. Defending the Saloya river is preserving life and a sustainable future.

<div>The communities of Mindo and Saloya in Ecuador have protected and defended our jungles, birds, animals and rivers from destruction. For decades we have dedicated ourselves to their protection and conservation. We depend entirely on the forest and its rivers for our survival.
