<div>We are launching this fundraiser to support the struggle of the communities of Mindo and Saloya, in the cloud forest of Ecuador, in their pursuit of justice against the threat of the 49 MW San Jacinto hydroelectric project!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the heart of the Andean Choco, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, lies the Saloya River, a key biological corridor for biodiversity and the livelihood of more than 3,800 families. Today, this paradise is threatened by the San Jacinto hydroelectric project, which seeks to divert its flow and extract 10,010.00 liters of water per second, could dry up its ecosystem and endanger unique species such as the river otter, the capuchin monkey, fishes and other endemic species. Defending the Saloya river is preserving life and a sustainable future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The communities of Mindo and Saloya in Ecuador have protected and defended our jungles, birds, animals and rivers from destruction. For decades we have dedicated ourselves to their protection and conservation. We depend entirely on the forest and its rivers for our survival.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>“Today, the Saloya River is one of the last pristine rivers near Quito, being vital to avoid forest fires and guarantee water balance in times of drought.”</em>
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>THE SALOYA DEFENDERS: GUARDIANS OF LIFE</strong>
</div>
<div>The fight to protect the Saloya River is led by the Río Saloya Resiste collective, a self-convened group of brave environmental defenders made up of citizens, local entrepreneurs and farmers committed to the future of the region.
</div>
<div>We see the consequences of climate change every day. If they take a river, they take life. More than ever, the Saloya River needs to be defended and protected!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>JOIN THE MOVEMENT</strong>
</div>
<div>Become a guardian of the Saloya River and its forests. Your contribution will be a stronger voice against the threat and a firm step towards a future where rivers and forests continue to be refuges of life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>WHY IS YOUR SUPPORT VITAL?</strong>
</div>
<div>The funds raised will guarantee effective legal actions to eliminate the concession, stop the project and protect this natural sanctuary. They will also strengthen local initiatives to expand the Mindo Nambillo Reserve, indigenous Yumbo territory of the Andean Choco and a pillar of biodiversity and hope for future generations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With the funds raised we will support the Río Saloya Resiste collective with:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Costs of lawyers and documents for the legal process.
</div>
<div>• Expertise, maps and logistical expenses in the studies that will support the legal process.
</div>
<div>• Videos and printed informative flyers that will allow us to spread our campaign.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>LOS DEFENSORES DEL SALOYA: GUARDIANES DE LA VIDA</strong>
</div>
</div>
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>¿POR QUÉ TU APOYO ES VITAL?</strong>
</div>
</div>
</div>
