Dear Friends and Family,

It’s been an awesome start to 2018! I am grateful to have so many amazing people in my life like you all! Here is a brief update on what’s happening in my life: I am a sophomore at Lipscomb University, studying hard, playing on the soccer team and I am involved in a number of small groups on campus. I’m planning on majoring in Spanish and Psychology. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some great people while at Lipscomb, and I’ve been presented with some exciting opportunities to serve this spring break and summer.

I am writing you to share what God has laid on my heart and the opportunities that He has led me to in the coming months.  As many of you know, I have been extremely blessed by going on a number of mission trips in the past. The Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Mexico are three of the countries where I’ve been able to serve, all of which were life-changing experiences.  God put a desire in me to serve in the mission field at an early age and this spring break and summer I have the opportunity to serve in a few new ways.

As a part of Lipscomb University’s College of Bible & Ministry, Lipscomb Missions provides short-term mission opportunities for our community through strategic vision and long-term partnerships with organizations around the world. While serving alongside these well-established ministries, participants are able to utilize and discover their unique gifts and passions, sharing the Gospel in a variety of ways. Throughout this academic year, Lipscomb Missions will mobilize more than 60 teams comprised of over 1,000 people – students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

This March I will be going to Daytona Beach, Florida with a small group of men from Lipscomb with the intention of loving the lost and sharing Jesus with spring breakers who are searching for more. I believe there is a longing inside each of us that only Jesus can satisfy, and I want to share this with others.

In May I will be going to Uganda for two weeks while partnering with Sports Outreach Institute. Approximately 12 of us from school will be working with their staff to love and serve all whom they minister to; we will be involved in sports ministry, discipleship, public health, home visits, feeding programs, orphan care and vocational training. This will be my first time to Africa and I am extremely excited!

Lastly, in June and July I will be interning with Back2Back Ministries in Mazatlan, Mexico. Back2Back has been impacting the lives of children around the world since 1997. They exist to transform the lives of orphans and impoverished children in Mexico, Nigeria, India, and Haiti. They strive to provide holistic care to each child they serve, meeting their spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs with the hope they may overcome their life circumstances and break free from the cycle of generational poverty. As an intern, I will be assisting the full-time staff in Mazatlan by supporting them and helping them continue the amazing work they are doing.  Every week mission teams from across the country partner with Back2Back and engage in work projects in the community often involving hard physical labor - I will serve these groups daily and join them in these projects.

My work with Lipscomb Missions and Back2Back Ministries cannot be done alone, so I would like to invite you on this journey with me. There are a few ways you can be involved in this trip. First, I am asking you to join me in prayer. Please pray for the preparation, the hearts of those who will be impacted, and the teams I will be serving on. I will be sending more specific prayer requests along the way. The second way you can help me is to contribute financially.  In order to make these trips possible, I have set the goal to raise $6,000. The reason you are receiving this letter is because you have positively impacted my life and I am grateful that you are a part of it! If you have any questions about the trips or what I will be doing, please do not hesitate to call, email, or text me.

I am super pumped to join you in making an impact on people’s lives and showing them the love that God has for them!

My Deepest Thanks,
