Let's keep Breathing and Live

I am Jim Jones. I am 63 years old and was forced to retire from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 234 in Jacksonville, Florida due to my illness last year.  I was a pipefitter welder in the Union for 40 years.
Last year I was diagnosed with IDIOPATHIC PULMONARY FIBROSIS disease.  Most people don't know what this is, much less have heard of it. Neither did I.  It is NOT mesothelioma.  It is NOT COPD.  I was never a smoker and never knew I could get any such disease.  Though I have spent my life in the construction industry and my life outside of work on my farm.  I have always tried to stay as healthly as I could. Unfortunately, the doctors do not know where this disease comes from. There is NO CURE.  It is a very Progressive disease that reduces your lung capacity and the ability to intake the Oxygen your body needs to live. In short, it's a slow suffication of your body. Without enough Oxygen to the body, everything in your body suffers.  You are no longer able to do the things you love and help your loved ones like you used to.  You become dependent on Oxygen until the end.
The only option for survival, is a LUNG TRANSPLANT.  In my case, a DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT is needed.  This is a very extensive and intense process to have a 2nd chance at life.  My Primary Care and Pulmonary doctors referred me to the Mayo Clinic here in Jacksonsville Florida for this chance at life. As of now I am going thru the Evaluation process to be selected as a canidate for Lung transplant. In a few weeks, after all this testing is complete, I will know whether or not I am selected to be listed as a Lung transplant candidate.  I have full confidence and hopes that I will be listed as a candidate for Lung Transplant.
I am asking for your help and kind donations to help me, my family, and my fiance` through this intense and long term process.  The Mayo Clinic has brought to our attention that even with Insurance,  fundraising to help with travel expenses, re-location for 3-4 months after surgery to be within 20 minutes of the hospital, therapy, recovery, maintaining the needs of my home and farm while I am away, my caretaker's unforeseen expenses, and the expenses of those friends and family that offer their help and services, and any other unforeseen expenses,  is a much needed aid to help cover these costs.
I am not one to ask for help.  I have always found a way to reach the mountain top, no matter the situation.  I would rather help others, as I have in the past when my Union brothers on the job have asked for financial aid in their time of need.  However, I am asking for your help ease the financial Burden of all that comes with this disease and a 2nd chance at life, to BREATHE and take that deep breath again! I charish my life as we all do.  I want to spend my retirement with my Daughter, her husband, and my wonderful grandkids. I look forward to my new life with my fiance`and give her the life she has dreamed of.  I want the chance to live the retirement life as I have worked so hard for, and I am always In Search Of More Light.
Thank you for your kind support.  No matter how big or small, every little bit helps to help ease the burden that goes with this deadly disease.

It is my wish that NO ONE ever has to experience this disease and travel down this difficult and burdensome road.

God Bless You and Your Family
