Meet Veronica! A 20-year-old girl from Wichita, Kansas who is currently at Butler County Community College, and will be attending Wichita State university next September to eventually become a Veterinarian! Sounds like a typical young lady who’s starting her adult life. But Veronica’s life is far from being “typical”. Veronica was diagnosed in April of 2013 with Lupus. Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body system including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. There is no cure for Lupus. Only treatments to help manage the symptoms.
With that being said, Veronica will be starting her second round of CHEMO therapy that is sometimes used to treat severe forms of Lupus. CHEMO will help with the kidney damage caused by Lupus. We all know the harsh side-effects of CHEMO therapy. While CHEMO is helping her kidneys, Veronica is definitely feeling the heavy side effects.
Even while going through these incredibly challenging life experiences, Veronica still manages to stay in school and even has a Full-time job at the Starwoods Hotel reservation center to help pay her medical bills and school. Seriously, the more I write about this beautiful soul, the more I admire her courage and her bravery. What an inspiration she is.
As though that is not enough to handle, Veronica’s car broke down. That is how she gets to work, school and all her Doctors appointments. We may not be able to cure her from Lupus or help get rid of the illness her body has but we can surely help her in other ways! That is why I’ve created this go-fund-me page for her! Wouldn’t it be great if she could be able to focus on healing and school and not have to worry about having to work even extra hours while being sick, so she fix her vehicle?
If you’re able to share this link and donate, even the smallest amount would be much appreciated, and I know would help lift Veronica’s spirit. The love that is felt by feeling supported when we are going through, emotional, financial and physical hardship is incredibly powerful. There’s a quote that Anne Frank said “No one has ever become poor by giving”.
Thank you,
