Our Dad Vern and our family, two weeks ago, traumatically found out that he has Stage 4 Liver and Esophageal Cancer at the young age of 62. Additionally, he has been living with Prostate Cancer for the last three years on a watch and wait program because of a stage one diagnosis. With this recent news Vern has been put in a position where private treatment outside of Canada is the only hope that he has that will allow him to survive comfortably and live precious more years to be with his loving wife, our Mom, of over 30 years, 4 children and see his 11 young grandchildren grow and experience the amazing accomplishments they will all achieve.
The treatment options available in Mexico are cutting edge and unavailable in Canada. These treatment options are the hope that we all have, as his family, to extend his passion for life and love of laughter in light of this horrific disease. The friendships that Vern has made over his past 20 years in the Pickle Business have developed into family bonds. The support Vern is receiving from his vendor family is appreciated and giving him the strength to fight the hardest battle he has ever faced!!!
We are looking to raise enough funds to ease the financial stress of these expensive treatments and travel costs for him and our Mom. This is a cry out for help to get Dad the treatment that is desperately needed to extend and improve his quality of life. These treatments include, but are not limited to, Gene Therapy, Immunotherapy, Stem Cell Therapy and Hyperthermia treatments. Our Dad will be quickly and aggressively under going Chemo Therapy and Radiation here in Canada within the next few days prior to him receiving these treatments in Mexico and in Private Clinics in North America.
Our Dad is a fighter and will not lay down and let this beat him. He is not only fighting for himself and our family, but for all those that have an impact on his life. He’s passionate and driven and will beat this with all of your help.
