<div>Val is well-known for supporting the community in his roles as an organizer, educator, entrepreneur, and real estate agent serving all of Northeast Washington. Many in the Inland Northwest know him from his years running a beloved regional newspaper that championed local stories and small businesses. Others know him through his work with non-profits, years of bodywork and teaching, his public speaking, or his fierce advocacy for community-driven change. Val has provided support through touch, through voice, and through action.

<div><strong>Now, Val needs our help, as he is preparing for weeks of advanced prostate cancer treatment in Seattle.</strong>

<div>While insurance will cover many costs specifically related to the procedures, thank goodness, there are vital places where money is needed for both his health and life fundamentals.

<div>There will be multiple procedures that require extensive recovery, he will have to make repeated trips to Seattle from the other side of the state and recuperate in Seattle. Val is the sole, self-employed breadwinner at home and is the full-time caregiver for his disabled partner and primary caregiver for his dear mother Rosalee who has suffered a series of strokes. He will be unable to work and has insufficient resources to sustain him and his family during this time. He needs our immediate support to cover basic expenses at home and the travel required for treatments.
