With the overwhelming amount of people asking how they can help I'm starting this gofundme account for the Ottwells.
As most of you know Nicole already battles MS like a champ! A few months ago she went through a pretty rough treatment to help her out with that.
Recently she had a horrible headache for a over a week & went to two ERs to try & find out what was up. While trying to have a relaxing vacation she got a call from one of the hospitals she had visited telling her to get to the nearest biggest hospital she could find because she has blood clots in her brain. For those of you that don't know it's an INCREDIBLY serious thing. So now she's in the hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO waiting to be able to come home. Once her numbers are low enough & the doctors run more tests trying to figure out why her blood coagulating the way it is she MAY be able to come home on Friday! Yeay I know her 3 boys are super excited! She will still have the clots but is being given anticoagulants to thin her blood so it doesn't cause any more. She will have to be on the anticoagulants for at least a year, maybe forever. Jordan wasn't with her on vacation so he had to book a flight immediately to get to her & of course has been by his wife's side since. Which means he's missing work. Since Nicole is medically unable he's the only one that works. He also hasn't been on the job long so that means NO INSURANCE.
Bottom line, Nicole will now have to go to the doctor 1-2 per WEEK to test her blood & the occasional scan to check on the clots. With the new medications she's now having to take 15 prescriptions. Yes, 15. Can you imagine the cost of the prescriptions & those dr visits with no insurance??! Insanity! So with this hospital stay, Jordan being off work for over a week already, medications & dr visits(plus all expenses for him flying, staying & expenses at home from Jordan missing work I would LOVE for us all to come together to help out Nicole & the whole Ottwell family.
