Let’s help the Kidd Family

Scott Kidd is the West Coast Scouting Supervisor with the Oakland A’s. More importantly, he is a husband to Gina and a father to three young daughters — Amanda,  Brooke and Megan.

Scott had a traumatic heart event two weeks ago.  It was not a heart attack, per se, and there were no blocked arteries but his heart basically became too weak to work.  What we do know is Scott came down with a virus which for some reason attacked his heart. With the heart weakened, many of his other organs were damaged. Unfortunately, it's possible that his heart and kidneys are too damaged to avoid a transplant. Scott is only 45 years old

No matter the next course of action, he is going to be hospitalized for a long time.   To get the best care possible, Scott is hospitalized in San Francisco, well over 100 miles from home, so Gina will need accommodations.  In addition, Scott will need to live near the hospital for an extended period after his surgery.

Knowing that San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the country, you can only
imagine the expenses that will pile up. This is in addition to medical expenses and any other unforeseen expenses that will arise.

If you know Scott, the LAST thing he would ever want to do is to ask for help, but he and Gina really need it at this time.

On behalf of Scott and Gina, and the entire Oakland A's organization, I thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
