Let's Help the Kaplans

Our classmate and friend, Ross Kaplan, and his wife Terri, lost their Kenwood, CA home and virtually all of their personal possessions in the firestorm that swept through the Northern California wine country earlier this month. Ross and Terri and their neighbors were forced to evacuate early in the morning on October 9, with basically nothing more than the clothes they were wearing.
The Kenwood fires were cruelly random; Ross and Terri's home and one of their neighbor's homes burnt to the ground, while other homes in their immediate vicinity survived. The town of Kenwood will likely never be the same.
Ross and Terri are fortunate to have wonderful friends close by who have offered for them to stay at their house as long as necessary. But they are now tasked with rebuilding their lives while mourning the loss of their beautiful home and memories, and dealing with scores of critical decisions that have to be made: replacing Ross' truck; the toxic cleanup; if, how and when to rebuild their home; and working with government agencies and insurance companies. And there are the mundane, but necessary, tasks of locating their mail, replacing lost documents, going back to work, and buying clothes and other necessities.
Ross and Terri have insurance, but cash flow is a real issue, and as we all know, insurance companies will never give them the full replacement value for what they lost.
We want to do what we can financially to help ease Ross and Terri's transition back to normal life...or at least one with familiar routines. Any donation that you make will be sent directly to them. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider making a donation. We know that Ross and Terri would be there for us...and we are going to be there for them.
Thanks for your support.
