Pat Loggans Memorial

Pat Loggans volunteered as an athletic trainer at Gate City High School for 35 years. However,  that is not where this story begins. Pat Loggans was the first Quaterback to lead GCHS Football team to win their first State Championship in 1970. His blood has bled blue for more then 40 years.

Pat developed ulcerative colitis not long after his high school career, he became very ill and this was the beginning of a lifelong struggle with illnesses.  Being the fighter he is, he bounced back and life went on. He married his high school sweetheart Lisa Quillen and had two wonderful children. Working as the Scott County administrator at the age of 45 he suffered a massive heart attack, which forced him to retire.  Once again the legend bounced back and went on with life. He continued to volunteer his time as the GCHS athletic trainer. Years went by and he became very ill again,  he had developed chronic pancreatitis. Doctors did what they could but chronic means forever. He really struggled with this new diagnosis, life would never be the same for him. He was no longer able to do the things he loved to do. He has lived with this disease for ten years and because there is no cure he is frequently hospitalized every month.

Two days ago Pat was diagnosed with Bone marrow cancer.

August 3,  2018 Pat joined his mother and father in heaven.

Please keep the Loggans family in your prayers.
