Hello all,
Our very good friends, Corey and Leah, recently made their dream come true and packed up everything to move out to Colorado. They have been saving for many years to buy their first home together and found a home that they both love in this beautiful state. It just so happens that my wife and I closed on our first home a month ago, and we were all excited to start new chapters in our lives together. This would be the first time in many years we would live close to our great friends.
The excitement of relocating to Colorado and buying their first home turned into a nightmare instantly this week when they became victims of sophisticated financial wire fraud. On Corey’s birthday, closing day for their new house, they discovered that their entire down payment had been stolen, and they were left with nothing. Everything they had saved for all these years had been taken. It was an absolutely massive financial loss, and something that could happen to any one of us.
They haven’t and would never ask anyone to start a campaign or ever ask for money - just one of the reasons they are so deserving for help. Although the goal for this campaign will not be near the amount that was stolen, I hope that it will help them get back on their feet to start this new journey. It will help them keep this house that they worked so hard for. They are great people whom I feel determined to help, because I know they would do the same.
