Let's help Natasha out.

Hello friends,
I'm reaching out to you all and asking for help. I'm asking for your help with my best friend and family member Natasha. Natasha has been going through some medical struggles for the past year and just as she thought she has kicked it in the butt it reared it ugly face again. She has never asked for help and has tried to do as much as she could on her own. Her amazing family has helped and will continue to help but it has come to a point where help is needed. I am going to share with you now what the situation is and then let you know where the funds will go.

May 2017 she started experiencing vision problems in her left eye. Her doctors were already trying find the cause of some hormone imbalances, so the vision loss set off a red flag and she got scheduled for a CT scan. July 28 she had CT scan and got called into her doctors office a couple hours later to discuss the mass that was found at the base of her brain. Aug 3 she went for an MRI to confirm and measure mass, she was informed she has a craniopharygioma, which is a benign tumor that grows in a troublesome spot affecting her pituitary (hormones) and optic nerve. The next step is surgery to try and remove tumor or at least relieve the pressure it was causing. Aug 14 she had an appointment with a neurosurgeon in Kamloops, talked about options and she went with endonasal skull based surgery to remove as much of the tumor as was possible. Oct 12 was Surgery day. They removed the bottom portion of the tumor and debulked some of the top portion that was causing some pressure. She spent a week in the hospital as her body went into stress and shock and her cortisol levels plummeted(this is very dangerous as your adrenal system is connected to this). On January 6 2018 she had a follow up MRI, which showed there was still a significant amount of the top part of the tumor. It is attached to her optic nerve still and is pressing up into part of her brain and can still cause serious issues and it needs to be taken care of. Jan 31 she went to Vancouver to meet with an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon and then a neurosurgeon to get another opinion on what to do about the rest of the lesion,. The neurosurgeon at VGH strongly recommends surgery to do a resection of the remaining tumor sooner rather than later as the debulking(tumor is still growing) is not going to last and it will cause more problems in the long run including but not limited to the loss of her sight. They have more specialized equipment in the removal of this tumor then in Kamloops and they will perform a endonasal skull based approach with the hopes of a total resection. He is suggesting no later then April for the surgery and because she Just had surgery and just returned to work(earlier then she should have so she could make ends meet) she does not qualify for Medical EI as she needs to work 600 hours in between claims. Recently she has start to show effects of the tumour and she gets really sick and ends up in the hospital as soon as her body shows signs of stress.
So here is why I'm asking for $3000.00 I'm asking for her rent for three months and a little extra for all her medications that she is required to take after the surgery that she can't get coverage for. I know that it seems like a lot but every little donation makes a huge difference. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
