Quiero contarles la historia de nuestra amiga Nadia y su familia. Ella tiene una hermosa familia compuesta por Mauricio,Lucas, Melissa y Nadia.
Cuando la conocí sus niños asistían a la escuela elemental de Abigdon y estaban celebrando que su esposo había vencido el cáncer de colon. Hoy día Lucas va a TJ Middle School y Melissa a Claremont pero el cáncer ha regresado. Mauricio está luchando por su vida y por mantener a su familia. La situación es difícil tanto emocionalmente como financieramente ya que hoy día solo cuentan con el ingreso económico de Nadia, que como podrán imaginar, si tomamos en cuenta que el costo de vida alto en Arlington, no es mucho.
Mauricio tuvo una operación del colon a mediados de diciembre y salió optimista de la operación. Este proceso es largo y nada fácil. Mauricio tiene mucho dolor y las medicinas solo ayudan un poco.
La situación en su hogar es estresante y la falta de fluidez económica no ayuda con el estrés para todos los miembros de la familia.
Las cuentas médicas se han acumulado y son enorme. Los gastos no paran y toda la familia está sufriendo. Claro que con lo luchadora que es Nadia probablemente no te hayas dado cuenta.
Tengo que hablar en primera persona porque se lo mucho que Nadia influye en nuestra escuela y en nuestros niños. Lo veo a diario. Yo no creo que exista un niño en la escuela Claremont del que Nadia no sepa su nombre, su grado, su número de bus y conozca a los papás.
En estos momentos, ella y su familia merecen toda nuestra ayuda posible en estos momentos difíciles.
Se que nuestra comunidad es espectacular y entre todos podemos sobrepasar este meta que nos hemos propuesto para ayudar a Nadia y a su familia.
Hago un llamado a todos las personas que la conocen o que han pasado por una situación similar que colaboren con nosotros y nos ayuden a devolverle la tranquilidad a Nadia y su familia. Así ella puede seguir siendo la persona alegre y siempre dispuesta a ayudar a nuestros hijos.
Juntos podemos lograrlo. Ayúdennos a ayudar a una persona que siempre está dispuesta a darnos una mano y una sonrisa. No hay suma pequeña cada centavo cuenta y por favor compartan la historia de Nadia y su familia.

I want to tell you the story of our friend Nadia and her family. She has a beautiful family composed of Mauricio, Lucas, Melissa and herself.
When I met her, her kids attended Abingdon Elementary School, and they were celebrating that her husband had beaten colon cancer. Today, Lucas attends TJ Middle School and Melissa attends Claremont, but his cancer has returned. Mauricio is fighting for his life and to support his family. This situation is as emotionally difficultt as it is financially difficult since they can only count on Nadia's salary, and as you can imagine, if you take into account the cost of living in Arlington, this is not much.
Mauricio had colon surgery in mid-December and the outcome was positive. This is a long and complicated process. Mauricio is in constant pain, and the medicines only slightly help.
At home, this is a stressful situation and the lack of economic influx does not help with the stress levels of all family members.
Huge medical bills are piling up. Expenses do not stop and the family is suffering. Clearly, that with Nadia being a fighter, you probably have not noticed.
I have to speak in first person because I know how much Nadia influences our school and our children. I see it daily. I do not think there is one single kid at Claremont who Nadia does not know their name, grade bus number, or their parents.
At this critical moment, she and her family deserve all of our help. I know that our community is spectacular and that together we can exceed what we have proposed to help Nadia and her family.
I call upon everyone who knows her or those who have gone through a similar situation to help us help Nadia and her family get back their peace of mind. That way she can continue being the happy person who is always willing to help our children.
Together we can do this. Help us help someone who is always willing to give us a hand and a smile. There is no small amount, every cent counts. Please share Nadia and her family's story.
