Let's help Miguel walk again. (Versión en español al final)
Hi, my name is Miguel Sosa, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Maracay, Venezuela.
I am currently studying on 7th semester of Business Management at the Universidad de Carabobo. Despite the serious economic situation that my country has had over the past 20 years, I've always persevered and worked really hard to move forward and to collaborate with my college and home's expenses, which I share along my grandmother, overcoming any challenge that would stood on my path. Today, I must succeed in a greater challenge.
The accident:
Last October 25th I was riding a motorcycle to my home from college, when a semitrailer closed the pass on my lane right on a curve, which caused me to impact against its platform, lose control of my vehicle to land on the floor and get stuck behind the trailer's wheels; which luckily, did not reach to pass me over. However, the wheels hit my lower back, causing three fractures on the pelvis and multiple fractures on the sacrum bone. Therefore, it was realized a surgical intervention (reducing and stabilizing the fracture with a pelvic external splint and, in that way, controlling the internal bleeding and achieving hemodynamic stabilization). After this surgery I find myself at home in bed rest, without having the possibility to move an inch and only counting with my friends and family's support to help; unfortunately my recovery is still yet to be near, according to an X-Ray that was taken a week after the surgery A posterior displacement at the level of the sacrum fracture is evidenced due to the vertical instability of the bone. Because of this, I will be needing another surgery to fully recover from this tragic accident.
The raised funds will be destined to pay the medical honorarium and the materials needed for the surgery, as well as the payment of the hospitalization expenses, the miscellaneous exams required, the long ambulance transfer to the city where the surgery is going to be realized and the rehab payments.
It is a miracle that I am alive, and I'm thankful for it, but Venezuela's current political, social and economic situation makes really difficult the possibility of finding the necessary resources to realize this second surgery; and being a long and delicate path towards my healing and recovery, I'm asking for your help to rise of this bed, to be able to walk, and go out to the world again, to continue not only the new life that God has given me allowing me to survive this horrible accident, but to be able of keep being the the son, grandchild, brother and friend that I have always been, to finish my studies and fulfill my expectations to the future.
Besides this, this experience has taught me to comprehend the situation of plenty of people who live a similar experience or even worse, making me understand that you need to give to receive, hence I hope to recover soon to be able to support and do my small part for every person who needs it and be in my reach.
In this moment with a lot of faith and trust I'm able to thank God, my whole family and friends that have supported me unconditionally and have given me the strength to keep fighting.
This campaign is managed by my childhood friend Luis Rivas and myself, along with the support of my cousin Victoria Hernandez and her husband and a good friend of mine Eddy Mogollon, who is in charge of receiving and realizing the raised fund's management. Besides, they will be helping us with the organization of the medical expenses' payment, which i will be receiving on cash, check or wire transfer.
I will be eternally grateful for all the help that you can offer m to walk again, I appreciate that you have taken the time to read this from the bottom of my heart, both to the ones that collaborate and the ones that keep me in their prayers. Thank you.

Ayudemos a Miguel a caminar
Hola, mi nombre es Miguel Sosa, tengo 21 años y soy de Maracay, Venezuela.
Actualmente curso mis estudios de 7mo Semestre de la Carrera de Administración Comercial en la Universidad de Carabobo. A pesar de la grave situación económica que vive mi país actualmente, siempre he perseverado y trabajado muy duro para salir adelante, apoyar con los gastos del hogar que comparto junto a mi abuela y cubrir mis gastos universitarios y personales superando cualquier reto que se pusiera en mi camino. Hoy, me toca superar un reto mucho más grande.
El accidente:
El pasado 25 de Octubre de 2017 regresando a mi casa de la Universidad en moto, una gandola me cerró el paso en una curva, lo que provocó que impactara contra su plataforma, perdiera el control del vehículo para finalmente caer y verme atrapado debajo de las ruedas de la gandola, que por suerte, no alcanzaron a pasarme por encima. Sin embargo, las ruedas golpearon con fuerza mi espalda baja, provocándome tres fracturas en la pelvis y adicionalmente múltiples fracturas en el hueso sacro de la columna. Por ello me fue realizada una intervención quirúrgica, realizándome una reducción y estabilización con tutor externo anterosuperior para pelvis, consiguiéndose una estabilización de la fractura, control de sangrado y estabilización hemodinámica. Después de esta operación me encuentro en mi casa en reposo absoluto, sin tener la posibilidad de moverme de la cama, contando sólo con el apoyo de mi familia y amigos para ayudarme. Pero lamentablemente, mi recuperación aún está lejos de terminar, pues en un chequeo de Rayos X (Rx) que se realizó post operatorio se evidencia un desplazamiento posterior en ascenso a nivel de las fracturas del sacro por ser verticalmente inestable, por lo que requiero de una segunda operación para poder recuperarme.
La segunda operación:
Los fondos recaudados serán destinados para el pago de los honorarios médicos y los materiales que requiere la intervención quirúrgica, así como también para el pago de los gastos de hospitalización, los diversos exámenes que se requieren, el largo traslado en ambulancia hasta la ciudad donde se realizara la operación y los gastos para la rehabilitación.
Gracias al milagro de Dios, y a todos sus ángeles hoy estoy vivo. Pero la situación política, social y económica actual de Venezuela dificulta la posibilidad de conseguir los recursos económicos necesarios para realizar esta segunda intervención quirúrgica, siendo mí camino de sanación y recuperación largo y muy delicado. Es por eso que pido de su ayuda para poder lograr esta meta de levantarme de esta cama, caminar nuevamente, salir de nuevo al mundo y continuar no sólo con la nueva vida que Dios me ha otorgado al permitirme sobrevivir a este horrible accidente, sino además poder seguir siendo el hijo, nieto, hermano y amigo que siempre he sido, para poder culminar mis estudios y mis sueños de un futuro, no sólo para mí, sino también para mi familia.
Además de esto, esta experiencia me ha enseñado a comprender la situación de muchas personas que viven una experiencia similar o en algunos casos peor, haciéndome entender que para recibir hay que dar, así que espero recuperarme pronto para poder apoyar y aportar mi grano de arena por cada persona que lo necesite y este a mi alcance.
En este momento con mucha fe y confianza, puedo dar gracias a Dios, a toda mi familia y amigos que han estado apoyándome incondicionalmente y que me han brindado la fuerza, fe y apoyo para seguir luchando.
Esta campaña de fe y esperanza en las personas que dan su mano amiga está administrada por mi amigo de la infancia Luis Rivas y mi persona, junto con el apoyo de mi prima Victoria Hernández y su esposo y mi buen amigo Eddy Mogollon, quienes serán los encargados de recibir y realizar la administración de los fondos recaudados. Además, nos estarán ayudando con la organización de los pagos de los gastos médicos, los cuales estaré recibiendo vía efectivo, cheque o transferencia.
