Los Gallos Boxing Club has been serving the community for over 40 years. This boxing club has been home to over 450 boxers and many more to come. Mr. Leonel Vela (the head coach) started boxing in Mexico in 1963. He was an aspiring boxer and fought amateur and professional boxing. Mr. Vela took a break from his passion in the 1970’s and in 1979 decided to follow his passion for the sport as a coach. He opened his nonprofit organization called “Los Gallos Boxing Club” in the heart of Oak Cliff. The purpose of this organization is to keep children off the streets and possibly achieve the dream of becoming professional boxers. This organization teaches kids sport, professionalism, discipline, self-defense, and hope. Los Gallos Boxing Club is now formed by coach Leonel Vela and one of coach Vela's early boxers Javier Armenta as well as Eugene Tremblay. Los Gallos Boxing Club is now home to more than 20 boxers. However, we have four boxers that are on their way to the 2021 USA Boxing National Junior Olympics & Summer Boxing Festival in Lubbock Texas. This is a two-week tournament eight hours away from Dallas. Our goal is to raise enough money for coaches' and boxers' transportation, food, uniforms, and a place to stay. I know that we can make this happen with your help. Javier, Victor, Eli, and Jesse have fought very hard to make it this far. It will be their first National tournament for all four and they are very excited. Please help these young men achieve their dream and live the experience of going to the nationals. There is no donation too big or too small and everything is appreciated. Thank you so much and viva Los Gallos Boxing Club!!!!!!!!!!
