Hello everyone-

I have created this Go Fund Me page for a near & dear friend of mine, Kim. We met in Portland in 2009 at a vegan restaurant/market we both worked at, Proper Eats.

Kim, her husband & their 2 kids now reside in Vermont after living in Portland for over a decade. A couple of months ago Kim felt a lump, went in for a Mammogram & found out she has breast cancer that has also spread to her lymph nodes. Along with that, she found out that she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation. So along with going through months of chemotherapy & radiation, she will also have to undergo a double mastectomy & hysterectomy.

We are trying to raise money to help alleviate whatever financial burdens their family might face in the next 6 months. Anything from co-pays, medical bills not covered by insurance, child care when needed, house cleanings if they need them, offsetting time off work for chemo treatments/recovery, dinners for delivery when they don't have time/feel like cooking their own meals, etc.

Kim is one of the most amazing humans I have ever met. One of the BEST cooks I've had the pleasure of working with. She can take the simplest of ingredients & turn it into pure *MAGIC*. She is so kind, so thoughtful & has the absolute best laugh on planet earth. If you don't know her laugh, you are truly missing out. She is a stellar, inspiring, & loving human being who is going through a rough time in life right now.
