Let’s help Boomer!

Hi everyone! First and foremost, thank you so much for reading this! Everything started about a month ago. I started noticing a mass on Boomer’s rear right leg and thought he had hurt himself or was wounded. It wasn’t until a week ago that the mass started to become a problem. Boomer had some difficulty walking and started eating less which made me realize it was an emergency and we needed to get it checked. Last Saturday, we went to the Veterinarian who explained that in addition to the mass there was also the presence of a thick liquid  the doctor then explained to me that sometimes the rabies vaccine has the tendency to cause inflammatory reactions. The second case was that it could be something related to his bone which in this case was a soft tissue sarcoma (osteosarcoma) and unfortunately there is no other treatment than amputation. This now leads me to today. We went to the emergencies and I had a surgeon speak to me and confirm that Boomer’s leg needed to be amputated. Boomer is now at the emergencies getting an echo cardiogram and might stay overnight to get the surgery. I realized due to my lack of funds, I might need to push it back to early December. I am hoping to get this done by the 18th of December, that being said I need to raise enough money first.

That being said, the earlier, the better.  I am a college student who is out of work due to the recent pandemic and have no other alternative at the moment. Boomer on top of being my cat is my best friend and roommate. He’s brought so much excitement in my life since I got him. I live miles away from my family and don’t get to see them as often, Boomer is really helping with that.

Spending that much money for his physical exams left me with little to money for his surgery. I have never done anything like this before and would have never done so if I was not in need. The money that I will receive will cover the cost of Boomer’s surgery. Anything helps at this point of time.
