LET'S HELP MIGRANTS IN BELGRADO !

After the building of walls in Greece, Bulgaria and Hungary to stop the entry of refugees in these countries and the interruption of the Balcanic route, thousands of civilians have remained stuck in Belgrade. Lacking warm enough clothes, some even with mere slippers at their feet, women, men and young children face every day (and every night) temperatures reaching 10 or 15 degrees below 0. More than two thousands people are forced to live in an abandoned industrial area, in precarious hygienic conditions, on one single meal per day offered by the local NGOs, and have to light fires to heat during the freezing nights, coming into contact with unbreathable air, permeated by smoke. These people drag themselves into an existence which seems to have completely lost contact with the essence of humanity, in a complete state of desperation and abandonment.
Being already active in our city in welcoming refugees and incapable of continuing to witness the prolonged grievances that human beings like us have been enduring for years, we have decided to act to bring our help first-hand in a town which seems to have turned into a concentration camp. Our objective is that of gathering the greatest possible number of heavy jackets, shoes and blankets possible and to bring them to Belgrade by the beginning of march. Also, the funds raised will be employed to buy necessities such as food and medicines. We will distribute this necessities, that we will buy once there, with the help of local orgnisations. Your contribution is fundamental to realize this humanitarian and sympathetic initiative.
