Abba is a 29 year old who has been suffering from sickle cell disease all his life. From a young age the complications of this disease meant that Abba was in and out of hospital, which ultimately lead to damage in both his hip joints due to avascular necrosis (an unfortunate complication of sickle cell disease). I can not mention to you the unimaginable pain he has had to live with on a daily basis. Now the stage has come where he requires a double hip replacement. This would be life changing for Abba - imagine not waking up in constant pain.

Abba has goals to get married and start a family. Unfortunately due to his worsening condition and his many hospitalizations this is a dream deferred. For many years Abba has relied on the aid of walking sticks and crutches just to get around yet he is uncomplaining.

Abba is a friend to everyone; he is generous, helpful and always puts others first. Stoic, resourceful, full of gratitude for life - he never lets this disease take his zeal from life. Everyday he hustles and achieves and despite living in constant pain Abba is involved with many charitable projects, many of which are centered around catering for orphans and those less fortunate than himself.
