Let's Get Trelawney to her Barding Ceremony!

(Quick Summary: Eek! Trelawney spent all her savings on medical bills, and now her family is trying to get to Cornwall for the ceremony where she will officially be made a Bard! She deserves to go, and we want to help!!)

Hello, beloved friends and family!

We hope you are all holding up well in these perilous times! We're all walking quite a road right now and need all the love and support we can get. Please know that you have our love and support, too, and we're glad to be on this road together!!

One person who has been bringing fierce generosity and a dedication to healing as we walk this road is our amazing sister Trelawney. Maybe you've been following her journey with Long Covid, which left her disabled and fearing for her life over the course of the past two years. Through her constant crushing pain, relentless exhaustion, debilitating brain fog, and perpetual frustration, she somehow still managed to persevere in her commitment to learning our endangered ancestral language, Cornish, and creating countless songs, prayers, and ways to uplift and re-integrate Cornish culture into our lives and the world. It's SUCH a gift. She issues us invitations to renewed hope and beauty every day.

And... maybe you've heard the amazing news (that has our ancestors cheering wildly!) that in honor of her contributions to the culture, Trelawney is being made a Bard of Cornwall on September 3rd in a ceremony... in Cornwall itself!!!

But perhaps you HAVEN'T heard that she is trying her darndest to be there IN PERSON with her family for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration and honor??! We are all praying that their health holds up and they can make it there with ease. It's a miracle that the trip is possible at all, and we want to make it something they can relax and enjoy!

Trelawney doesn't talk much about this, but she has been scrimping and saving every penny for 6 years to have enough money to be able to visit Cornwall with her family. But guess what? Having Long Covid is EXTREMELY expensive. (Take care of yourselves!!) Thankfully, she is feeling a lot better this summer after countless treatments, herbal medicines, and hospital visits. Sadly, since May her daughter Endelyn has been suffering with Long Covid symptoms, but thank goodness, she is responding well to treatments and recovering, too. We’re so glad they're doing better!

To get through all that—and after Eric was forced to lose half his income for 6 months during the pandemic—The family has been paying for the medical bills by using the money she had carefully saved in hopes of getting to Cornwall. Now there are still medical bills to pay, and her savings is all gone-- plus all their other family savings and beyond.

At this point, Trelawney has managed to get cheap plane tickets through airline miles and find free places to stay in Cornwall through the generosity of friends. The girls have chipped in all their allowance they have saved for 2 years. And they are planning to go. But they still need funds to get from London to Cornwall—and we really want her & Eric & Endelyn & Zawna (and Trevanna! Who is aiming to join...) to be able to enjoy a pasty or two and actually relax and have a well-deserved vacation after all their hardship and downright trauma of the past 2.5 years!

We know times are tight for everyone, and it may seem odd to ask for funding for travel right now... but still, we come humbly and hopefully asking. If you want to invest in community care, ancestral healing, cultural restoration, and just the deep love and pride we feel for our uniquely amazing sister Trelawney, we invite you to give her a gift to support her family's trip to Cornwall to be present for her barding ceremony.

She is overwhelmed, and has said that she will give YOU "thank you" gifts in the form of calligraphed blessings, sheet music for the songs she has written, and other bardic-type offerings to brighten your lives. Incredible.

We love you, Trelawney, and we could not be prouder of what you've accomplished in such grueling circumstances-- not just the Barding, but taking care of your own health so that we can have you in our lives for MANY years to come. Keslowena!!!

And we love all of you friends and family, too, and thank you deeply for your generosity and care in this and all things. Let's make this happen!! :)

With love and hope from,
Tamarleigh, Tallessyn, and Trevanna
