Rhys lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. His family is struggling to keep up with the bills because 2020. He also has a painful and debilitating illness that no one seems to be able to figure out. He's been referred to specialists, but he can't afford the cost of care because he's uninsured.
Rhys doesn't have a washer and dryer. He posted the other day about going to the laundromat and encountering a person there with three children, none of whom were wearing a mask. As a longtime friend, I was immediately concerned. His health shouldn't be further compromised because he doesn't have his own washer and dryer or have the resources to get them right now.
So I thought: LET'S GET RHYS A WASHER AND DRYER!
Rhys is cool. He's good and kind and it's been a hard year. Besides this mystery illness, someone broke into his house earlier this year, grabbed a decorative sword in the living room, threatened everyone, and stole their car. It was all very 2020.
I'm Rhys's friend, but I've also hired him to do some work for me. I work in suicide prevention, and he collaborated with me to make an amazing suicide prevention one-pager at the very last minute for a vigil in my neighborhood that was planned on the fly. His art is incredible, his merch is quality, and he's wonderful to work with.
In short: Rhys deserves this. Do one last good deed before 2020 gets the FUCK out of here OR do a first good deed before 2021 starts to kick our asses!
I found a new Samsung washer and dryer set that are an appropriate size for Rhys's family (used appliances break and I don't want Rhys to have to deal with that mess) for $1260. With tax, delivery, installation, and required equipment for install, it's about $1450. I'm requesting $1500 so there's some extra for a tip for the delivery/installation humans.
That's $1 from 1500 humans! $5 from 300 humans! $10 from 150 humans! $18 from 83 and 1/3 humans! $20 from 75 humans! $50 from 30 humans! $100 from 15 humans! TL;DR: this can be done, so let's go, let's go, let's go!
Seriously, every dollar counts, and Rhys (and Rhys's fam, and me too) would be so grateful for any help you're willing to give. AND SHARES COUNT TOO! If you don't have cash, that's super okay. The world is on fire! We'd be just as grateful for your shares.
