Let’s get Maddy running those bases again❤️

Sarah Holbrook Boyd is an amazing mom! This is just a bit of what her daughter is dealing with. 2 years ago Maddy was healthy and active. She had the HPV vaccine in Jan 2018 and started off getting rashes and joint pains and has had issues since.  She was supposed to have a simple spine surgery in August 2018 that turned into 3 Spine Surgeries and a spinal leak she had for 6 weeks from November 2018 to Jan 2019 before a proper MRI was ran to find the leak. She was then sent by ambulance to Cincinnati Children's who wanted her to lay flat for 30 days before trying to repair to leak to avoid surgery.  She completed the 30 days in bed and had to use a bed pan only to have to still have the 3rd spinal surgery.   Since then she has continued to have daily headaches and spine pain. She was getting relief from spinal steroid injections only to have them suppress her adrenal system and now she has adrenal insufficiencys . In May of 2020 she was hospitalized and the Adrenal issues were found she started medicine and started to get better only to have the spinal injections that help her back pain cause too much stress to her adrenal system pushing it into a crisis on August 14th 2020 and she has been very sick since.  The adrenal issues have also caused issues with her heart which she never had prior to taking steroids. They do feel she is finally in the right place to get the treatment she needs with all doctors working as a team. 

After many tests the Doctors have some diagnosis for her, she is dealing with Adrenal failure, Addisons, Pots, Anemia, Back pain from failed surgery, Fatty liver and a few other things.
They are doing more testing to get a treatment plan for her. Most days she has a hard time getting out of bed.  They are currently at the Mayo Clinic and the Ronald McDonald House is closed due to covid. With everything going on we just want to relieve the stress of travel expenses and medical bills. We are all praying and rooting for Maddy!!
