Let's get Georgia Fort On-Air

Georgia Fort is an Emmy-nominated journalist whose reporting has been featured on CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS affiliates. She has more followers than any other Twin Cities newscaster or TV host. She was one of only two journalists allowed in the courtroom for Derek Chauvin’s sentencing. 

And yet no local Twin Cities TV station will let Georgia Fort do what she does best: tell stories that change the narrative of marginalized communities by amplifying truth, citing diverse sources and contextualizing social justice issues.

Why? What are they afraid of?

Georgia has done more than enough to earn a seat at the local media table, but they continue to deny her the chance. So she’s taking matters into her own hands.

Georgia is launching her own show, a weekly half-hour TV show designed to bring her award-winning reporting to an even larger audience.

The show will feature stories that correct the negative images of Black people on screen that have been perpetuated for decades. Decades of typecasting, blackface and mugshots can’t be undone overnight, but Changing the Narrative will be a vital and groundbreaking first step.

And that’s where YOU come in.

We’re raising money to place Georgia’s TV Show on broadcast TV

as a paid program.

Funds will cover season one production costs, airtime, and a media campaign to promote and build awareness for the show. Our hope is that others will then take notice of Georgia’s unique voice and give her the prime time slot it deserves.
