Let's Fund the Panda Cam

Currently, the Smithsonian's National Zoo Giant Panda Cam is offline due to the current federal government shutdown. Millions around the world adore Tian Tian, Mei Xiang and Bei Bei, but currently have no way to see them until the shutdown is resolved.
As American taxpayers, we are empowered to use our voices to fund our priorities. As lovers of the Panda Cam, we can either wait for the government to sort itself out (good luck with that) or take matters into our own hands.
In the event the shutdown ends before we reach our goal, or the Smithsonian refuses our offer (more likely), any funds raised will go to the Friends of the National Zoo (Fonz).
More information about Friends of the National Zoo (Fonz): Since 1958 the Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) has been providing support to the Smithsonian's National Zoo. Since then FONZ has raised millions of dollars to support the critical work of the National Zoo and the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute – including species preservation, animal care, Zoo-based events and volunteer Zoo staff. We are committed with the Smithsonian's National Zoo mission to save species – for us and generations to come.
