Lets all help Rye

Jen D has always been a dog lover . Having gone through almost 50 surgeries in her lifetime, she always appreciated the loyalty and companionship she received from her German Shepherd Sasha.

Thanksgiving 2017 was more than devastating when she lost her at fourteen and half.

Jen’s heart was broken. She knew this day would come (as we all do) but was not ready to say goodbye. The thing that kept her going and staying positive through all of her painful medical treatments was her beautiful Sasha. As an active dog, Sasha needed walking and feeding and playing so it was the perfect bond. Jen is also visually impaired so her dog is also her security.

One day after Sasha’s passing, Jen received a call that would make those gloomy days sunny again. It was a call from the breeder. She told Jen she had a beautiful male German Shepherd.  He was seven years old. His owner is a beautiful soul who was going through very serious health issues with her heart and she felt she needed to concentrate on her health. It broke her heart but she gave him back to the breeder. She knew he would have a warm loving home with the breeder. The breeder there was a better spot for him.

One year after surviving a dangerous brain tumour surgery,  Jen went to pick up her new best friend in London. He was beautiful big boy. They knew they would become best of friends and he would protect her to the end. It was love at first sight!. She just had to have him as she knew all too well that more serious health issues could appear at any time.

Riker came home. He was checked out by the vet and was very healthy.Everyone was happy!

Not even a year later he was checked again. Sadly this time the vet was very concerned: his paw had dropped down and he had an extended tendon. He would soon not even be able to walk or push himself up. Jen was devastated. She knew she could give him a loving
home and food but nothing could have prepared her for this. He needed (at the very least) rigid braces for both legs if not surgery. Being on a very limited disability pension, Jen feared the worst.

The braces alone are close to $2000. The surgery has to take place in either London or Guelph (a problem if you are visually impaired like Jen) and will cost much more than that.

Jen is a very kind, compassionate person who never asks for anything so this is very difficult for her to come forward and ask for help.

She is on disability and it hurts her greatly. She has a little bit she can donate but she and Rye need your help.

Please share this with your friends, your co workers and your family.
