<div>I am raising this campaign to support my father's current medical requirements, he is currently 81 years old and few years ago he was diagnosed with an uncommon disease called amyloidosis. Amyloidosis is a rare disease that occurs when a protein called amyloid builds up in organs. This amyloid build-up can make the organs not work properly. Organs that may be affected include the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system and digestive tract. Some types of amyloidosis occur with other diseases. These types may improve with treatment of the other diseases. Some types of amyloidosis may lead to life-threatening organ failure.

<div>He got chemotherapy 4 years ago to slower the dangerous effects of the disease, however he already suffered great damage in his organism.

<div>Currently his lungs, heart and mainly digestive system are impacted. Regarding his digestive system is now practically completely malfunctioning with a condition called paralytic ileus: Paralytic ileus, also known as adynamic ileus or pseudo-obstruction, is a condition where the muscles in the intestines don't properly move food and waste through the digestive system, causing a blockage. Since one month ago he is no longer processing any meals by normal ingestion and parenteral feeding was required to be introduced to keep him still fighting to be with us.

<div>Parenteral feeding is highly costly (approximately 250 USD daily), hence we are asking for help in order to be able to cover those expenses to continue providing him with the required life support as long as possible.
