Let's advertise marriage equality

What started out as a campaign to advertise marriage equality has become so much more than that! We have opened a marriage equality information/drop in centre on Raymond street in Sale. This space acts as a 24/7 advertisement, a source of information, an art exhibition,a drop in centre and a place for the lgbti community and their allies to come to knowing they are not only accepted but also supported. The response we have had already is amazing. People have travelled from all over Gippsland to see the space, tell us their stories, ask questions and gather information to take home or to their work places to tread them selves or to give to other people. One of the most important services we have so far provided, I think, is an ear to listen. We have had so many people come in who feel isolated, with stories to tell that they feel like they can't talk about to their friends or family but thy can to us. An elderly lady who's gay grandson committed suicide and she can't talk openly with her elderly friends for example. It's really important to us to keep this space open as long as we can so we can keep on providing support, information, a safe space and keep on advertising marriage equality.
