It is with deep sorrow and love that we share the sudden passing of our mother, Leticia "Letty" Muñoz who died on Tuesday morning, October 14th after a long battle with multiple chronic health conditions.

Leticia was born on December 9, 1966 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the second of 12 children to Enrique and Maria Guadalupe Sánchez. She was part of a big and beautiful Catholic family who immigrated to California in search for a better future. As a young child, Linda Carter was her favorite superhero and she would often throw on a makeshift cape and pretend to be Wonder Woman. During the 80's, she would blast disco music, los Bukis or Amanda Miguel. Her signature look was big teased hair, bright blue eyeshadow and pointy blazers with leather heels.

She met Fernando in 1988 on a blind date where later that evening she confessed to her sister that she had found her husband. They were engaged shortly after and were married on June 1989. They welcomed their firstborn daughter Beatriz in 1990, their son Fernando in 1992 and their daughter Janet in 1999.

Fernando and Leticia endured a lot of challenges during their marriage but they remained steadfast in their commitment to each other and their family. They were married for 34 years. They were helpful and kind to anyone who needed a helping hand and taught their children to be good Catholics, responsible, hardworking, studious and kind. Their legacy lives through us as we continue to honor them everyday.

Leticia was a hard worker and a wonderful loving mother and wife. She took pride in taking great care of her children. She was a Supervision Aide and also joined the Parent Center at her children's school to be involved in their learning and school activities. She worked there for many years until she got sick and her health began to decline.

In 2008, Leticia received the gift of life from an organ transplant that she so lovingly named "Bubba". This changed her life forever. It prolonged her life expectancy and allowed her to be there to witness her children graduate college, get married and she also got to meet her grandchildren too. We are forever thankful to the donor for giving our mom a second chance at life.

Leticia faced every day with a spirit of resilience and bravery that inspired all who knew her. Despite enduring years of pain and suffering, she never lost her fighting spirit. She approached life’s challenges with grace and courage, always putting others before herself, even when the weight of her struggles seemed insurmountable. Her will to continue living was to see her grandchildren grow. They were the joy and pride of her life.

Leticia is preceded in death by her brother, Hector Ruben Sánchez, mother Maria Guadalupe Ramos Sánchez and her husband Fernando Munoz Soriano. She is survived by her three children Beatriz, Fernando and Janet, their spouses Varun, Tayler and Abraham and her six grandchildren; Lilah, Oliver, Sophia, Gianna, Connor and Amelia. She is also survived by her father, her 5 sisters, 5 brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Unfortunately, with the emotional and financial toll of losing both of our parents so close together, we are reaching out to ask for support. If you are able and feel called to help, any contribution toward covering the funeral and memorial expenses would mean the world to our family.

Con profundo pesar y amor, compartimos el repentino fallecimiento de nuestra madre, Leticia "Letty" Muñoz, quien falleció la mañana del martes 14 de octubre tras una larga lucha contra múltiples enfermedades crónicas.

Leticia nació el 9 de diciembre de 1966 en Guadalajara, Jalisco, la segunda de 12 hijos de Enrique y María Guadalupe Sánchez. Formó parte de una numerosa y hermosa familia católica que emigró a California en busca de un futuro mejor. De pequeña, Linda Carter era su superheroína favorita y solía ponerse una capa improvisada y fingir ser la Mujer Maravilla. Durante los 80, escuchaba música disco a todo volumen, a Los Bukis o a Amanda Miguel. Su look característico era el pelo cardado, la sombra de ojos azul brillante y los blazers puntiagudos con tacones de cuero.

Conoció a Fernando en 1988 en una cita a ciegas, donde más tarde esa noche le confesó a su hermana que había encontrado a su esposo. Se comprometieron poco después y se casaron en junio de 1989. Recibieron a su primogénita Beatriz en 1990, a su hijo Fernando en 1992 y a su hija Janet en 1999.

Fernando y Leticia enfrentaron muchos desafíos durante su matrimonio, pero se mantuvieron firmes en su compromiso mutuo y con su familia. Estuvieron casados durante 34 años. Le sobreviven sus tres hijos: Beatriz, Fernando y Janet; sus cónyuges: Varun, Tayler y Abraham; y sus seis nietos: Lilah, Oliver, Sophia, Gianna, Connor y Amelia. También le sobreviven su padre, sus cinco hermanas, cinco hermanos, tías, tíos y primos.

Desafortunadamente, debido al impacto emocional y financiero de la pérdida de nuestros padres tan cercana, les pedimos apoyo.
