On April 30th our amazing preschool teacher Ms. Charisa’s husband died, an unexpected death, early in the morning leaving her with the immense responsibility of raising two children under five (Adelaide and August) on her own.
She is a graduate of Texas State University with a BFA in Theatre. She has a strong background in music as a classical cellist and is trained vocally in both opera and musical theatre. She has aspirations of pursuing a terminal degree in Theatre Theory/History and becoming an professor of theory and criticism. She brings her love of the fine arts and education into the classroom. These skills paired with her remarkable ability to connect with children makes her a wonderful preschool teacher.
As we all know, teachers don't make even close to what they are worth and early childhood teachers make even less . The bills will not stop just because their world has. It is our goal to give her at least a cushion as they transition to a family of three so she can worry less about how much they have for groceries and more about taking this time to concentrate on their mental health and well-being.
Please help to support the UUMC- Early Childhood Center's amazing, capable, kind, and wonderful 3 year-old class teacher, Ms. Charisa. Anything you can spare would be a gift to this wonderful young woman and her dear children as they find their way in this new reality. Please share with friends and family. Thanks so much for your donation and time.
