Let's Send Brenda to Amsterdam!

The International AIDS Conference  is being held in Amsterdam from July 23 to 27.  Our friend Brenda has the opportunity to participate, speak about her experience living her entire life with HIV and cerebral palsy and meet others who face similar challenges. 

She would attend with other activists, including colleagues from the Sero Project , which is a U.S.-based national network of people living with HIV.

However, Brenda needs to raise approximately $3,450, to attend, as follows:

Conference registration (discounted):  $300
Airfare and airport transfers:  $750
Lodging:   $1900
Food (she doesn't eat much, but restaurants are expensive):  $500

For people living with HIV, connecting with others can be vitally important and improve health outcomes.  Through her work with Sero, Brenda has become an activist, most recently participating in the annual AIDSWatch  in Washington, DC, this past March.  

It is also particularly important for the voices of people who acquired HIV at birth, as Brenda did, to be heard.  It is believed that there a disproportionate number of people born with both HIV and cerebral palsy; Brenda's particular interest is in exploring that link and creating a network amongst who share both conditions to advocate for research.
