Let's help Victor get home!

My name is Cindy Carrington, I live in Los Feliz, CA, and I’d like to tell you all about an amazing friend of mine, his name is Victor Aguirre, he’s been working his fruit cart near my home in Los Feliz, CA, bringing life to the neighborhood every Tuesday thru Saturday for the past three years now, never missing a day. He literally cheers up the whole street with his personality, bright smile, and colorful umbrellas. Neighbors congregating around his cart, kids stopping by on their way home from school to say “hi,” He brings back that old school neighborhood feeling to the community.

Victor is remarkably sincere with more integrity than any person I've ever met. He’s been known to drop what he’s doing when he sees someone in need. When my dog got loose from his leash, it was Victor who ran off at the blink of an eye, leaving his cart unattended so to catch my pup. 45 minutes later, there's Victor, sweaty and smiling, walking back with my dog. He even chased a purse snatcher one time. But today, Victor is the one who desperately needs help.

About 5- 6 weeks ago, Victor mysteriously went missing. As his absence stretched from a few days to a few weeks, everyone was quite worried, there were even strangers knocking at my door inquiring about him. A little over a week ago, we were shocked to find out that Victor is being detained at the Los Angeles immigration center because he is un-documented.

Victor has become such a well known & respected figure in the community which is why 120 people in the neighborhood coordinated together to each send the Judge who was presiding over Victor’s bond hearing a heart felt letter asking for lenience. And our letters may have made a difference… Victor was one of the very few people who was granted bail that day. Six weeks in immigration detention, Victor needs to come home… Now.

This is where Victor needs our help. I am working to raise a total of $11,500, $10,000 for his bail, and $1,500 to cover Victor’s court cost/lawyer fees & bail. He doesn’t have much family here, and he doesn’t own property, so he definitely needs all the financial help he can get. Once we reach $10,000, I will be transferring the funds to a money order and immediately drive to the detention center, pay his bail and he is OUT of there! All funds from there on will be covering his attorney fees & court cost. Victor's next endeavor will be a long drawn out court process so to find out if he's able to become legal.

I have much faith in Victor, and I know that things will work out in his favor. I also know that Victor will be incredibly grateful for all your help.

I thank you all so very much in advance for your gracious support!
