Let's help the Painters/Zoomers

Sometimes the system just isn’t fair. This is definitely one of those times. We have a proud, hardworking family that would do anything for anyone, and they find themselves in a position where they themselves need a hand. Deb has twice battled and kicked the big C’s butt – that in itself is an achievement worth celebrating! Sadly, Deb can no longer work as she still has medical appointments and treatments constantly - the parking bills are astronomical alone! Her hubby, Rob is a paramedic, so every day he is out in our community saving lives – maybe the life of someone you know or love. Their eldest daughter had worked desperately hard to be accepted into a prestigious dance degree in WAAPA, Perth. Somehow, despite living on the other side of the country, faceless bureaucrats have decided that she is not living independently, so she can receive no government assistance with living expenses. This family stretches their income to ensure their daughter has every opportunity to do well and succeed with her dancing dream. Last week Ayla needed physiotherapy on an ankle injury, but she didn’t even tell her parents as she didn’t want to add to her their financial pressure. Their youngest daughter Saskia has just qualified for the Queensland State Finals for Track and Fieldin Caurns.  Saskia too deserves every opportunity to be the best that she can be. The finals are being held in Cairns, and the family need to pay for her flight, accommodation, fees, uniforms, etc. within two weeks. On top of medical costs, living expenses and supporting their eldest daughter, this is just impossible. The thought of her not going is breaking their hearts. Can you find it within your heart to donate to help out this amazing family? They do so much to help others – let’s show them that as a community, we are grateful for all they do. We acknowledge and celebrate the successes of their children – successes that they have trained and worked very hard for. Let’s get Saskia to Cairns and provide Ayla with the funds she needs for doctors and physiotherapy whilst she is in Perth!
