Let's help the Bridgmans!

As many of you are aware Kristin had been feeling very unwell since early August and was seen by her Dr. and a gastroenterologist . After having a colonoscopy on September 9 it was a shock to find out she had a large cancerous tumour in the sigmoid colon and multiple polyps. She saw a surgeon immediately.

While a awaiting a surgery date, CT scan and other procedures at Baylor Medical Centre (Dallas ) she twice had serious bowel complications requiring two hospital admissions for treatment. (Repeat CT scan, radiology procedures/ IV fluids etc. )

On Monday, October 7, her surgeon was able to do the previously planned laparoscopic total colectomy (removal of entire large bowel). Fortunately the tumour had not spread into the intestinal wall and her CT scan looked good. So we are grateful for that and for your concern and prayers. She will be in hospital recovering for about two more days and is doing well.

At this point we are not sure what the follow up will be in regards to the cancer diagnosis.

Kristin does have health insurance, but has already incurred significant out-of-pocket costs as it doesn't cover the entirety of the medical bills.  Kristin and Matthew will be experiencing loss of income for the six-plus weeks of work she will be on medical leave, and there are still a fair amount of unknowns on the horizon.

A few weeks earlier Matthew had been informed that the store he had managed for a non-profit for the better part of a decade was being closed. His last day would be November 26. He has been offered and plans to accept another role within the organization, beginning in January.

Matthew is also attending Eastfield College this semester, getting started on CAD/CNC certification. He's doing his best to keep up with everything else going on.
It's a strange and difficult season for the Bridgmans.

They are more grateful than ever for each other, and grateful for all of you and your support. Any updates regarding Kristin's recovery they provide will be added to this page.

Let's help make this burden a little lighter for them as we work together to help cover their financial needs during this time.

*GoFundMe has notified me that I need to make sure that you are aware that Garvie Olson (Kristin Bridgman's Dad will be withdrawing the funds as he is Canadian.  He will then transfer the funds to Kristin)*
