Let's help Relish Craft Kitchen & Bourbon Bar

UPDATE~~~June 10,2020~~During this crazy time, I am so grateful to our loyal customers and our wonderful staff that we have been able to keep Relish open and serving takeout. Over the last 12 weeks, the Relish/KT staff has been amazing and have all stayed so strong and worked so hard as we had to continuously change our operations from week to week depending on the crisis du jour.

Today I am saddened to share that we have a new crisis—no easy way to say this but to just say it: one of our staff has tested positive for Covid-19. The employee remains asymptomatic (thankfully), and was tested based on a known contact outside of Relish. However, out of an abundance of caution and concern we have decided to temporarily close the restaurant and online market beginning immediately (2pm on Wednesday 6/10/20) to allow for the rest of our staff to be tested and to give us all a much needed and deserved break.

While we are aware that there are no known indications that Covid-19 can be transmitted through food, our first and most important priority is the health and well-being of our employees and customers. Please know that we have been and will continue to take every precaution as recommended by the CDC to keep our incredible staff and beloved guests safe. We are actively monitoring this evolving situation to ensure that we are always operating in the safest manner possible.

As always—I sincerely thank you for your support during all of these crazy times! I will keep you updated on our reopening plans….just as soon as we make them.

Love to all…and stay safe,
Sharon

March 2020~~Can you imagine a world without Relish? Owner, Sharon May, is starting to imagine just that. After 9 years of giving to her community, 9 years of filling our bellies with our favorite southern comfort foods, 9 years of saying YES to every request for a donation that came her way, 9 years of donating to thousands of educators in Wake County with gift cards and luncheons to show her appreciation of them, 9 years of supporting local vendors in the Relish market, 9 years of giving, giving, giving… Can we say yes to helping Relish this time? Can we keep Relish from being a Coronavirus tragedy?

The restaurant industry is being hit hard. Even with take-out options, it’s not going to be enough.  Did I mention that Sharon is the BOSS of bosses? Like the best boss you can ever hope for. The most caring, kind, considerate, giving (there’s that word AGAIN), compassionate boss I’ve ever known. She truly loves her staff and has worried more about them in this crisis than the fate of her restaurant. I hope everyone gets a chance to have an employer like Sharon once in their lifetimes.

Even during her financial worry, Sharon is offering to help Raleigh’s hungry families by allowing patrons to add a ½ price Relish family meal for the Interfaith Food Shuttle when they purchase their own family meal. She just never stops in her attempts to help others. She needs our help, now. Losing Relish would be heartbreaking to our community.

If you are able to donate $100 to Sharon to keep Relish alive and functioning, please consider doing so today. Any amount is appreciated.
