Let's help Lulu get better!

Lulu-Rose was surrendered to "NBRAN" in February 2019 at the tender, young age of 10-months.  She went to live in a foster home and was found to be extremely skinny...... weighing in at less than 30-lbs.  Her foster family brought her to the vet, and she was diagnosed with having both Hookworms and Roundworms.  Lulu needed to be on meds for several weeks.  We thought that was all that was wrong with this sweet gal.  So, we searched to find a forever home for Lulu-Rose.  And we found that wonderful furever home for Lulu in April 2019 with Mike Cavanaugh.  Unfortunately, since being adopted, Lulu-Rose has been extremely sick.  UTI's, vomiting, not eating, and now jaundice.  Several trips to the vet, but nothing was working for this poor gal.  So, her vet recommended Lulu-Rose to see a specialist.  She was brought to see Dr. Burling at "Mass-RI Vet" in Swansea, MA (Tel.# [phone redacted]) on 6/18.  She needed an ultrasound and a biopsy.  She also needs to stay in the hospital for 3-days.  This vet bill is $3100 (see update 3)!!  And this doesn't include her ongoing care, vet appointments and routine blood work (~$200 per testing).  Owning Lulu-Rose will cost money, time, and lots of vet visits.  But, throughout all this, her Daddy will not give up on her, even though the rescue Mike adopted her from (NBRAN Britt Rescue) has graciously agreed to take her back.  Mike is in it for the long haul and will not give up on Lulu!  He said, "She's family now and I wouldn't trade her for the world."

We, as Lulu's former fosters, have started this GFM to help Mike off-set Lulu's vet care.  Any small donation is greatly appreciated.  Donations can also be made via PayPal to [email redacted]

5/28 - Vet visit for UTI and not eating. Urine all crystallized and blood work showed super high liver and kidney levels. Vet prescribed antibiotics.
6/4 - Urine recheck came back normal.
6/13 - Vet visit for not eating again. Blook work still showed super high liver and kidney levels. Vet suspects liver disease.
6/18 - 3 day ER visit at Mass/RI Vet for jaundice, vomiting and not eating. Multiple tests including blood work, lepto test, ultrasound and biopsy done ($3100 vet bill). Medication given to reduce swelling in her liver.
6/26 - Biopsy results are back showing that Lulu has cholangiohepatitis.
6/28 - Vet visit and blood work. Still jaundice. Liver levels have gone back to as high as they were when she was admitted to the ER. ALT level is off the charts >1000 U/L (normal is 10-125). Vet prescribed prednisone.

Future care:
7/9 - Blood work every 2 weeks to make sure her liver numbers does not spike up again.
7/19 - Tufts VETS appointment
