A wheelchair for Walter Derzko
Donation protected
Walter(Wolodymyr) Derzko who has been in hospital and long term care facilities for 5 years, is in need of aggressive rehab if he has any hope of standing or walking again.
Copernicus long term care facility does not have a spare wheelchair to meet his needs. His physiotherapist is recommending a special "Neox" tilt, manual propelling ergonomic wheelchair. The total cost is $6000 and the Ontario Govt will cover 3/4 of the cost. This will leave Walter with about $1500 to pay. His disability pension now goes to pay for his monthly nursing home costs and he has tapped out on his savings.
He will need this wheelchair to get to his physio for his rehab. This is imperative to keep his hope of mobility alive.
I'm hoping that you can help Walter reach his goal of $1500. Would be a nice 65th birthday gift.
If you can help, please click the donate button below and help Walter get some new wheels:) With heartfelt thanks in advance for your kindness. As his friends, we all want to see Walter walking again.
