Emma is going through a tough spot with her housing, and needs help raising $1500 to stay housed.
Last month Emma, a recently out transwoman, had to leave her job due to transphobic hostility and queerphobic hostility in her workplace. She's had a tough time since then finding new work, and as a result has fallen behind on her rent.
Thankfully, her landlord is willing to work out a payment plan for her back rent but only if she is able to pay September's month in-full and on-time on the first of the month.
To reach this goal and keep Emma housed we need to raise at least $650 before September 1st. We are also looking to raise $650 to cover her over due rent, which has a slightly more flexible timeline. An additional $200 will help with groceries, transportation, and other costs in the meantime. Altogether, we're looking to raise $1,500.
Even if you can't donate yourself, there are other ways to help so please don't let your own lack of funds discourage you! If you know of any tire and lube mechanic jobs, entry level customer service or office work sharing that information could help her get back on her feet. Additionally, she is currently offering services on TaskRabbit and would be happy to help with odd jobs such as moving and cleaning if you know anyone in need. Finally, simply sharing and spreading the word about this fundraiser can help a lot!
