Let's Help Duke to Heal!

I'm Marjie DeFede, a longtime volunteer with Hounds' Haven.  We are a non profit, private, "quality of life"  shelter for homeless and abused animals from around the Ohio Valley.  We provide loving care and a home for life for hundreds of animals, and we also operate a low cost spay/neuter program as well as ongoing adoption efforts.  As you can imagine, we see plenty of injured pets  brought to our shelter.  The latest is Duke, a handsome 9 month old Australian Shepherd.  He belongs to a family with six children and they all love him so much!  You can imagine their distress when he was playing with the kids and Duke was hit by a truck and sustained a broken pelvis and a broken leg.  His family came to Hounds' Haven for help.  Duke's been a real trouper and  valiantly underwent an exam while we made arrangements to schedule surgery for Duke at New Horizon Animal Hospital.  His broken  bones will be repaired, but doctors say Duke must have two week's cage rest to prepare for the surgery.  There will be a long recovery time for this brave boy and we want to give him every chance to bounce back and run and play the way herding dogs love to do!  His surgery and other treatment will be a very expensive investment for Hounds' Haven, but we would never turn our back on Duke.  Can you help us to pay Duke's growing medical bills?  He is a beloved family pet, but his people do not have the means to cover these expenses.  Hounds' Haven is looking for donations of any amount.  Together we can help Duke to get back on his feet and live the life this loving companion deserves!   Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
